In 2012 I was on my third and final pregnancy. I wanted to do things differently this time, I chose a healthier diet for myself, exercised, and chose a natural delivery. I knew that was not going to be an easy task since my last two births I had used epidurals. I needed someone in the delivery room that could help me through the labor and guide me on what choices to make during this process. As the time came near, I knew having Tina by my side would make my drug-free delivery more manageable, and oh boy did it! The day came when I was ready to welcome my little man to the world. Tina was instrumental in advocating for me at the hospital when they were not sure why I would want to have a drug free labor. The emotional support I received from Tina was critical as the nurses told me I would labor throughout the night, which was not the case at all and Tina knew it. Tina provided physical support by providing hands-on comfort measures like a comforting touch, counter pressure, and breathing techniques. The nurses seemed shocked at how fast I progressed when it was time to push the doctor was not there, but Tina was ready to instruct me. I know that I would have given in to birth that I did not want or plan without Tina’s support. Thank you, Tina, for your love and support that beautiful day.
It has been 12 years since my beautiful little girl entered this world. What a special and terrifying day it was! I had planned and read and thought through my whole birth experience, and of course it never goes exactly as you have planned. Having a trusted and perfectly calm doula by my side was exactly what I needed! Tina walked me through my contractions and helped my husband and I to stay calm and centered. We planned to have a completely natural birth and Tina helped communicate my desires to my nurses. I could not have done it without her. Four years later, when my son was born, Tina was by my side getting me through back labor and helping me brave a second natural birth. Tina was exactly what I hoped for during both labors. Her knowledge and experience is amazing and I couldn’t be more happy that she was with me on two of the most important days of my life.
Tina was an amazing support for my husband and I from the moment we first discussed our birth plan during pregnancy, all the way through the weeks following the actual birth of our son (and as a loving support ever since).
I had several complications during the actual delivery process and Tina provided me with exactly what I personally needed. She had incredible poise, a cool head, a gentle nature, and kept the environment for me peaceful, when things were a little more complex around me.
I always felt like I was being heard and my needs were being met. I would be thrilled to have Tina by my side with any other delivery, and will recommend her highly to anyone else who is in need of a Doula.
Tina is an absolutely amazing doula! I didn’t think that I needed one because I do really well with pain but, since it was really my desire to have a natural home birth, my midwives and my husband advised me that I should have a doula because I had never been through this kind of pain before LOL. I wanted a strong, loving person to help me follow through with my birth plan. And that’s exactly what Tina was!!! During the 17 hours that I was in labor, Tina drove an hour to me and I labored throughout the night and then an hour back to take her daughter to her first day of school and then drove back to me!!!! I am so grateful for her dedication!!!!!! She knew which position to tell me to get into, she had me moving walking, squatting, walking through contraction it was amazing. She did so well that when she moved too far away to drive and I was pregnant with my second child, my husband was like “I got this babe, Tina taught me well.” She’s the best of the best , and we love her very much!!!
